Hot ‘n crispy prawns masala

20140920_162007I have a thing for prawns – and always try and experiment with them in several ways. This time, it was time to give another innovative recipe a try – and a twist!
20140920_162224Take one kilo cleaned medium-sized prawns and shallow fry them in a tablespoon of oil and with a handful of very finely-chopped ginger and garlic and chopped whole red chilli’s until they gets to be light brown.
Coarsely chop three large onions and fry them in another pan with two to three tablespoons of oil, adding two to three green chilli’s, some red chilli powder, half teaspoon each of cumin, coriander and garam masala powder. Also add a tablespoon of fish masala (readily available in stores). Keep on heat until the oil separates.
Add the fried prawns and mix well. Leave on very low heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Serve after garnishing with coriander leaves. Can be had with rice and/or roti (flatbread)!
