Twisted fish ‘n chips

20141014_202539This is the “traditional” English fish ‘n chips – twisted completely “out of shape”.
I gave it a completely different look, taste and feel and it came out fantastic.
This is the way to go about it:
Take four medium-sized fish, cleaned and descaled. Rub it with a mixture of one large lime, salt and black pepper and leave aside for 15 minutes.
Separately, thinly slice a large potato, coat it with a pinch of turmeric and olive oil mixture and also set aside.
Now grill the fish in a microwave on the “combo” setting, 10 minutes each side or until it turns light brown.
20141014_202521Remove from oven and now put in the potatoes for 10 minutes, also on “combo” setting. Sprinkle mortadella or cheddar cheese and grill for another two minutes.
Chop a cucumber and carrot and sprinkle a teaspoon of olive oil.
You can also make gravy as an accompaniment. For this, chop an onion, a tomato, a few garlic cloves and a quarter length of ginger and fry in a tablespoon of oil for 10 minutes. Add a cup of water, cover and simmer for another 10 minutes.
Set up the plate as shown. The dish is done!
This can be accompanied with bread and cheese if required.
