Mumbai Masala

20141114_104148This is a rather ordinary looking, but great tasting, evening snack. Bread, and particularly brown bread, can make an ideal meal at any time so I decided to make the Mumbai street favourite, Masala Bread!
Take two large potatoes, boil in a pressure cooker and cut into small pieces.20141114_104157
Fry the potatoes in a non-stick pan in two tablespoons oil. Add a teaspoon of garlic-ginger paste, a small tomato, a finely chopped onion, salt to taste, a pinch each of cumin and coriander powder and half a teaspoon of garam masala.
The potato is done in 10 minutes.
Now, take a piece of brown bread and layer it with two tablespoons potato. Put on it another piece and ‘bake’ it in a patty maker for five minutes. Cut into two triangles and serve!
