Desi Dish

IMG_8009 copyWe visited a traditional Pakistani restaurant over the weekend, thanks to a chance encounter with a foodie at work who guided us there. Desi Masala, in Muharraq Town, not far from our home, was the ‘getaway’ we were looking for – as an escape from the 20120113-082434daily monotony of having home-cooked food.
The place is relatively new and there is no place – yet – for families to sit so we chose the only other way – eat in the car!
What we got was authentic Lahori (from Lahore) chicken and thick baked Pakistani bread.
I know it looks rich – and it was – but it was one wholesome meal, served straight in the wok – and off the fire.
To top it all, it was great value for money, with only $10 changing hands at the end of a hearty stomach full for four persons! That’s not bad, is it?
