Made at home meat burgers

Yes, we made them from scratch. These lovely, yummy burgers! The sauces are completely optional – and so are the French fries! The best part, however, is the oil-free grilling on the plate and the brown bread! Even the cheese is ‘light’.

Spinach and mushroom casserole

This was prepared by Asveen – rather quickly – after the customary “what’s for dinner” question asked ever so often. This time, however, I threw the ball back in her court with “you make” for an answer! Though my contribution was only chopping the garlic, I took a look at what was going on. Take…

Revival

I am now in the process of reviving this blog that I began three years ago but stopped somewhere this time in 2015. However, in addition to putting in an occasional recipe, I will also have pictures of food, mostly cooked at home, along with some reviews of restaurants we eat at.

Cheesy Weekend!

The weekend is always somewhat relaxed but this Friday and Saturday have been anything but! That meant we had to come up with some really quick meals. First it was the pasta casserole and then I hit upon the vegetable cheese sandwich. Yes, it was a rather “cheesy” weekend but then, how does that matter?…

Pasta and sausage casserole

One of my weekend favourites is the casserole but it’s always a challenge what to make it with. Of course, there is pasta, there could be mashed potatoes and there are vegetables. But today, I also used sausages – chicken sausages! Boil the pasta and the sausages in different pans, drain the water and keep aside….

Pizza gone wrong – and right again!

These are some pictures of what happened when I tried making pizza this evening. Yes, it did go horribly wrong – the oven timing went awry – but we ate it anyway and so did Tyson, who had the leftover ‘ring’. Of course, there were a couple of pizza base left over so I made…

Paneer veggie shami kebab

Once again, an innovative dish, simple to make and easy on the stomach. Using just a couple of tablespoons oil, it is also as healthy as can be. Take 250 grams cottage cheese (paneer) and powder it. Boil a medium-sized potato and add to the cheese. Also add a handful of boiled vegetables (green peas,…

Kofta and cheese pasta

Another day, another dinner and another super quick meal. All you need with this is a little imagination and plenty of drive and you will be there in around 30 minutes. Ingredients: A packet (around 500 grams) of pasta, finely chopped carrots, capsicum, green peas, coriander leaves, a few spinach leaves, cheddar cheese cubes, grated mortadella…

Twisted fish ‘n chips

This is the “traditional” English fish ‘n chips – twisted completely “out of shape”. I gave it a completely different look, taste and feel and it came out fantastic. This is the way to go about it: Take four medium-sized fish, cleaned and descaled. Rub it with a mixture of one large lime, salt and…

Weekend delight

Another typical weekend and another special breakfast. A little time consuming by wholly worth it. Take one potato and peel it. Then slice it into thin strips, coat with a teaspoon of olive oil, a little salt and a pinch of turmeric and put into the grill on high heat for 15 minutes. In the meantime,…
